Everyone tried to warn Onini that Anansi was trying to cheat him, but he just smiled quietly and said nothing.
Very early the next morning Anansi and Onini went into the forest. Anansi was already forming a plan in his head about how he could make Onini do all the work.
As soon they got to place where there were some nice reeds just perfect for fish traps. Onini took his net and his knife and said to Anansi,
“Now, because We are partners, I suggest that we share all the work,” Anansi had no intention of sharing the work, but he nodded anyway.
“The first thing,” said Onini, “is to cut the reeds for the traps. I shall cut the reeds.”
“What shall I do?” asked Anansi.
“‘Why, you shall get tired for me, of course. If I have to cut the reeds, I see no reason why you cannot get tired. ”
“What?” yelped Anansi. “Why, l do not think that is a good plan at all! Why don’t you let me cut the reeds, and you can get tired!”
“As you wish, Anansi.”said Onini. and he satin the shade.

“No you don’t!” Anansi cried. “ I shall carry the reeds and you shall get the sore back.” And Anansi carried the reeds to the water.
